Siena and “the Buti’s Caramelato”

I don’t like so much a static website, so I decided to publish some posts where I can tell you about our wonderful land and suggest some essential experiences, which are not present in the tourist guides.

In these months of lockdown, travel has been banned or in any case reduced to strictly necessary. Yesterday, after months of isolation, we took a short walk in the city where I was born, Siena. We parked in San Prospero, two steps up to San Domenico, where the cypresses that surround the Basilica seem almost to invite towards Via Camporegio, there we delayed the time of a shot, the glimpse that presents itself to the eyes requires it. A stroll in via Banchi di Sopra and then Piazza del Campo. Unique. Cozy. Extraordinarily ALIVE.

The goal was simple: free the mind and raise the spirit. As you may have guessed from the title of the post, the experience I wanted to suggest you is culinary. The walk had invigorated our spirits, but it had also given us a certain appetite and after all these months of resilience a sin of gluttony has to be granted … and not just any one, but the CARAMELATO (by Pasticceria Buti).

Caramelato

A crunchy pastry with a slightly caramelized flavor that meets a soft Italian Chantilly cream in a mix of flavor and texture that envelops from the first taste.

Pasticceria Buti

First tip: book them first (There’s a high demand).

Last but not least: They are never too much.

“Buon appetito”
